ME! Challenge: Week 4

I am ashamed. I cannot think of anything I have done for myself this week. My husband helped me clean and rearrange the upstairs loft area for my photography studio and yesterday I was working on my photography website. I guess that is doing something for myself.
It has just been a stressful and long week, that I am ready to start a new one.

Now its YOUR turn!
What did you do to get you groove back this week?

Friday Flashback

I only post this photo as it was only taken about 7 years ago in light of all the marital issues that have been spewing around here with my husband and I. This is one of the first photos we took together after attending church after I just moved in with him. There was a happy time between us!

Song Challenge: Day 10

A song that makes me fall asleep.

This is probably not the best to be listening to right now as I did not get much sleep but here it is

Song Challenge: Day 9

A song I can dance to would have to be

"They Dont Really Care About Us" Michael Jackson. You should see me in the kitchen if I have my MP3 on with the ear buds in as I make dinner. I will be dancing all over the kitchen to that.

RIP MJ

Song Challenge: Day 7

A song that reminds me of an event

Brad Paisely "Mud On The Tires" it reminds me of my first "outing" to the Texas State Fair where he played this song and I stood in the rain to watch him sing.

Song Challenge: Day 6

A song that reminds me of somewhere.....wow that is a tough one.

Dixie Chicks "Cold Day In July"

I remember standing in the front yard with my CD player and headphones the last time my ex boyfriend (at the time) and I ever broke up. I hit the "Play" button and this song came on. After that, I never really saw him much. This reminds me of the heartbreak I felt while standing in my front yard.

Meet Me On Monday

Questions:

1.  What is your favorite kind of fudge?
2.  Is there snow outside your window?
3.  What is your favorite meal of the day?
4.  Do you text on your cell phone?
5.  Waffles or pancakes?
---------------------------------------------------------------
My Answers!

1.  What is your favorite kind of fudge?
There are different kinds of fudge??? I thought fudge was chocolate! I don't normally eat fudge because it always seems too rich for my taste but when I do, I like the kind with nuts in them

2. Is there snow outside your window?
That would be a negative ghost rider! It is bright and sunny, yet cold

3. What is your favorite meal of the day?
Typically any meal I can eat as I am sometimes so busy cleaning the house I rarely get time to eat. Okay,  I don't clean the house that much. I am NOT a breakfast person. For some reason it makes me sick if I eat it. There are also times where hubby lets me sleep in (as that only happens about once a week) and I sleep til about lunch time. That to me would still be "breakfast" as it is food when I woke up.
Oh what the heck, we will just say dinner as that is usually what I tend to eat the most of.

4. Do you text on your cell phone?
Who doesn't? Of course I do and I always hear hubby saying "You texting already?" or "Who you texting now?" I think he is just jealous because he doesn't get a lot of texts! LOL

5. Waffles or pancakes?
Pancakes but it is funny you ask that. I will go to Waffle House and NOT eat their waffles. I will go to IHOP and only eat maybe 2 bites of their pancakes yet I love to eat pancakes when I make them at home and I rarely make waffles but I do to "spice" it up and change it up a bit.

Palm Reader

So out of curiosity, I read my palm.

Pretty much to sum it all up I am selfish when it comes to love, I have a good handle on emotions even though I have had emotional trauma.
I'm creative, adventurous and I have an enthusiasm for life. I make momentous decisions.
I have plenty of energy, I am cautious when it comes to relationships yet I am very strong and enthusiastic.
And I am prone to many changes in my life from external forces.

This is the part I find funny because it sorta true
# Sociable, talkative and witty
# Can be shallow, spiteful and cold
# Comfortable with the mental and the intangible
# Does things in different and radical ways

Me! Challenge: Week 3

I am still following Life Not Finished on this journey to find myself.

This week, my only goal was to get some sleep and try to refrain from yelling or any arguing. Okay, that goal was shot out the window by day 1. I will not lie, my marriage is falling apart. I will not lie when I say that my husband pretty much blames it all on my past, the way I was raised and/or the fact that I have been trying to make everyone in my life proud of me being as I didn't hear that a lot in the past and in the process I am truly just disappointing myself.

Therefore, the thing I did for myself this week happened in the past couple hours.
I sat down, with the kids upstairs playing video games, in the dark and watched "Eat Pray Love" with Julia Roberts and James Franco and many other great actors/actresses.

'Eat Pray Love,' is an inspirational drama based on Elizabeth (Liz) Gilbert's best-selling memoir. Liz played by Julia Roberts is a woman who, on the surface, has it all - a career, a husband and new home. However, she realizes that she no longer has a thirst for life. After a bitter divorce, she decides to journey overseas to Italy, India and Indonesia to find rediscover the true meaning of herself and life. 'Eat Pray Love' is an inspiring story and the quotes are enough to melt your heart.

That movie was pretty much the way my life has been going and the way I need it to be. There were some great sayings in that movie that touched my heart so deeply and taught me that maybe I need to take a step back and look into my life and see how I need to balance it a bit better.

"Tis' better to live your own life imperfectly than to imitate someone else's perfectly."

"There’s a crack (or cracks) in everyone…that’s how the light of God gets in."

"Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions."

"You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight."

And my favorite of them all that happened in the first 10 minutes of the movie, reminded me of what I am going through now:

"The only thing more unthinkable than leaving was staying; the only thing more impossible than staying was leaving."

Maybe, just maybe, I should travel the globe to countries like Elizabeth did but then again, maybe I don't. Maybe, I just need to travel into my past and my inner soul and do some cleansing.

Maybe I just need "ME!" time!

Now it's YOUR turn!
What did you do to get your groove back this week?

Song Challenge- Day 3

The song that makes me happy would have to be this one:

Hillbilly Bone
It is funny, and who can't stand to look at a tall hunky country man!?!?!

Friday Flashback

Song Challenge- Day 2

Well, I really don't have a least favorite song. I have MANY least favorite songs. Any songs that consist of any racial slurs, songs so full of rap you can't understand what they are saying and songs that are so loud of full of angry singers that all you hear is the drum pounding and an electric guitar.

I want to be able to dance to the song and sing along.

Wildfire

I love this song because I heard it a lot growing up and it is still one of my favorites to listen to.

Now a most recent song would have to be

You're the Love I Wanna Be In

Meet Me On Monday

Questions:

1.  Do you like your ice cream in a dish, waffle cone, pretzel cone, sugar cone or cake cone?
2.  Do you read the newspaper daily?
3.  Marinara or meat sauce?
4.  Last time you cried?
5.  What word/phrase do you find really annoying?
---------------------------------------------------------------
My Answers!

1.  Do you like your ice cream in a dish, waffle cone, pretzel cone, sugar cone or cake cone?
It all depends on what kind of mood I am in or where I am at when I eat it. If I am at an ice cream shop, I will eat it out of a waffle cone. If i am at a fast food restaurant I will eat it off a sugar cone. If I am at home, I will eat it in a dish.

2. Do you read the newspaper daily?
That I do not. When I lived at my mom's I would because we got the paper every day. We don't here. But I do get online and read the news online. Does that count?

3. Marinara or meat sauce?
Im not much a marinara person. Doesn't really have a great taste to me.
4. Last time you cried?
The last time I cried was Friday evening. A bad argument/fight with the hubby and that is where it put me

5. What word/phrase do you find really annoying?
My son's favorite "Whatever" It's so annoying, I tell him it is a bad word and he is not allowed to say it!

African Cats

EEEEKKKKKK, I am so excited. I would seriously travel to Africa to go on a safari to see things like this!

How Faithful Are You?

Be prepared for a box of tissues. Heartbreaking!

I Haul...U Haul

I am here because....well I love my blog and readers and couldn't stay away! Ha. No really, I am here because I have a product review for you guys...and gals!
My face is....well oily and dry. *Droily*??? Can we say that?!?!
During the spring/summer weather my face gets very oily. Especially during the summer. My face looks like someone Turtle Waxed it. Uck. I have invested in a BUNCH of oil sheets for my face during those times. Well, during the colder months, my face is as dry as an elephant's butt. No, really. If I don't have make up on, it feels very stiff and about to break. No joke! When I have make up on, it is very flaky and gross looking. I never invested in moisturizer because I tend to break out when I try new make up/facial products.
Several friends with my same skin type told me to try Clean & Clear Oil Free Dual Action Moisturizer. I hopped over to the local store (because I needed enchilada sauce for enchiladas) and I grabbed it while I was there.

Now this baby KNOWS how to work. I am already using Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control face wash. It is supposed to give you that "burst" in the morning but I don't feel it. Ha! But also it is controlling my shine by making my face dry.
Either way, I started using this moisturizer last night after I washed my make up off. It is a pump so you just pump a pea size onto your fingers (at least that is what I did) and I rubbed in on my forehead, nose and chin. I then got another pea size and rubbed it on my cheeks. Another pea size went on my neck.
By 4:30am, I had already seen a difference. When I first put on the moisturizer, it felt like my face was on fire only because of the pimple fighting ingredient. I was up at 4:30am, by the way, because my stomach was yelling at me for food. Either way, places I saw a break out starting (after washing my make up off before bed) was barely visible when I was up early this morning. I was excited. It also made my face "glow" as well as smooth and not greasy at all.
I would recommend it for anyone with the combination skin type, oily or dry skin types!
