Meet Me On Monday

Questions:

1.  Crunchy or soft tacos?
2.  Do you scrapbook?
3.  Do you take any daily medications?
4.  What is your favorite sound?
5.  Where were you born?
---------------------------------------------------------------
My Answers!

1.  Crunchy or soft tacos?
I prefer crunchy tacos but all that changed when I had my wisdom teeth out. Now I am going to have to get used to soft tacos...they are good too. Now I am hungry for soft tacos! ugh!

2. Do You Scrapbook?
I used to scrapbook. I made a scrapbook for my in laws, started one for hubby and I but never finished it. My mother on the other hand is a HUGE scrapbooker. She made scrapbooks for all us kids when we graduated and she made a scrapbook for my son when he turned a year old.

3. Do you take any daily medications?
I do at the moment. I take some anti-inflammatory meds as well as some pain meds since I had oral surgery this weekend

4. What is your favorite sound?
silence...except when I am sleeping. I have to have a box fan or white noise going when I sleep or else it is too quiet to sleep

5. Where were you born?
Dayton, Ohio

Tummy Ache

It's funny how a simple tiny pill can make all your pain go away yet make you fall asleep so fast! It's also funny how a screaming 4 yr old at 1:45am can change all that.
Thank goodness hubby was home last night.
Hubby went darting out of the bedroom to find lil man crying on the potty this morning. He was saying his tummy was hurting yet he couldn't go #2. I believe that is the issue but it was hurting so bad he couldn't even stand up or walk. He couldn't even lay flat on the bed or on the couch. He felt at ease and comfortable with his knees to his chest.
Lil man laid in bed between hubby and I but wouldn't let me rub his tummy as it would hurt if I di that.
The ER kept rushing through my mind but what can they do ? Nothing. A little boy has to poop and nothing you can do about that.
I felt so helpless since I had 1500 mg of vicodin as well as an anti-inflammatory in my system. They made me so tired, I couldn't walk straight. I had to hold onto the walls or something to get from one room to the next. It made me so tired, each time I closed my eyes,I was out like a light.
We tried giving little man some Peptobismol, water, fruit juice, and even a bit of milk. Hubby even asked if he wanted cookies...at almost 3am. Whatever works! Nothing seemed to work thought.
So there I was, crying alone in my bed TRYING to fall asleep while hubby was taking care of lil man. I felt so helpless, selfish and not useful. Im his mother and I should have been able to help no matter what but at that point I couldn't. Hubby kept telling me it was okay and that I had surgery 3 days ago and it was fine but my maternal instinct kept telling me it was not and that *I* should have been the one tending to my son.

Good news is, he is feeling SO MUCH better this morning and back to his old self. It was just a scary few hours to go through with him.

How Do Say That? Part 2

This is the 2nd part of the Accent Vlog I did late last week and so here I am, healing on my couch from oral surgery and doing this video
DISCLAIMER: I have no make up on and I am doing this video on my hubby's laptop from his camera on the computer so it looks like some Japanese film! Ha

Post Surgery Update

I got to the dentist at 9:10am and my appt was 9:30am so I knew I was early but I was hoping to get in the chair earlier BUT they had another surgery in process and they didnt get done with that until almost 10am.
Hubby and lil man left 2 minutes before they took me back to the chair to go get breakfast. They didnt expect to be in the waiting room that long so they were hungry. The receptionist kept telling me they couldn't take me back to the room or put me under until hubby got back since he was my ride home. I wasn't even in chair for 4 seconds and they put the gas on my face. That stuff really numbed my mouth, my face, even my hands. I was really getting nervous and I felt I was going to have a panic attack and the room kept spinning to the point it was making me sick. The girl that did my IV for the anethesia did it really well on the first poke and she was a trainee. I have't even bruised she did so well. The last thing I remember is the oral surgeon came in asked if i was allergic to anything an then I was out. I don't even remember anything until about 11:30am when I came too and hubby was sitting over me on the couch asking me if I knew where I was. He said I asked him 8 times how long it lasted and when he said "20 min" I said 'really, that was fast" and I kept saying that! Other than that, he said I didnt say or do anything weird.
I have been on the couch and in bed since.
I went in the dentist at 134lbs and now i am 130.4 this morning....I haven't been able to eat much since but i did end up eating hamburger chopped up along with creamy mashed potatoes last night for dinner.
I get so sick when I eat...I think the meds are making me sick but I get sick even if I dont eat when I take meds or when I eat and dont take the meds.

Me! Challenge: Week 12

I missed week 11 because I was in TN enjoying Spring Break with the family.
I am typing this on Thursday but will have it post on Friday morning because Friday morning (tomorrow) I will be in a dental chair. (Edited to add: well....I was going to but it isn't working for some reason...oh well)
That is my "me" time for "this week".
I am FINALLY having my 2 wisdom teeth pulled that are bothering the heck out of me for the past 2 months or more. I will have plenty of time to watch TV, movies, eat ice cream, eat yogurt, eat pudding and just lounge. Finally, I don't have to cook, clean, or deal with the kids! Ha!

Now it's Your Turn!
What did you do this week to get your groove back?

Spring Break-Day Seven

Whew, a whole week spent in Tennessee. Not sure when that will ever happen again!
Well, if you really want me to be honest, that was the day we left Tennessee. We ended up leaving that afternoon and then driving until about Lonoke, Arkansas where we stayed the night and then drove through back to Texas the next morning. Most of this day was spent in the car!

wearing daddy's hat

Sun setting in Arkansas (hubby was driving)

Crossing into Arkansas while the sun was setting.
That was how I spent my Spring Break. I hope everyone else had a fun, yet safe, spring break!

Spring Break-Day Six

Are we done yet? NOPE! Not yet!

HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY-day six!!!!

I think I got off to a bad start on the morning of day six. I was grumpy and just not in the mood for anything.
Thankfully, hubby just ignored my sour mood and took us horseback riding. YAY!
I had a very beautiful, slow and somewhat lazy horse named Sunny while hubby had a short stubby horse named Homer. Too many donuts, maybe? Ha!
Didnt really take too many photos of that so there won't be any.
Later that afternoon, we got back to the cabin and hubby and I got back to working on the storage as everyone else was feeding the ducks at the local pond.
Aidan had more fun (when they arrived back at the cabin) riding the mower with his daddy.

Oh and yes, everyone was decked out in their green or their Irish shirts....no one likes to be pinched!

Spring Break-Day Five

Day Five in Tennessee consisted of a LOT of walking. That may have been the only day I did a lot of that.
Hubby and I traveled to Gatlinburg that day. On the way, we stopped many times for photo ops. It was one of the coldest days by far in Tenneessee.

When we finally arrived in Gatlinburg, TN, we stopped at one of my favorite pancake houses called The Pancake Pantry  and while there hubby made a few calls and told me we were going to be staying at The Four Seasons Hotel. I was like "Say what? We are sleeping in style tonight" (it was really a "motor lodge" but instead we found a cute dainty hotel on the river for the night. And it was cheaper!
We then drove back into the mountains after getting our hotel room and took more photos at "The Top Of the World" and then drove back to Pigeon Forge for a bit and then back to Gatlinburg. While in Pigeon Forge, we grabbed some Pizza Hut for dinner and took leftovers back to the hotel. When we got back to Gatlinburg, it was still a bit chilly but only about 9pm and I hated to be stuck in a hotel room for the night, so we trotted on down the strip and got some fudge and then walked back to the hotel.

We watched some TV, drank some Pepsi, ate some Chex Mix and then went to bed.

Spring Break-Day Four

Day four of Spring Break. Talk about a not so good day. I was nicknaming myself the "grumpy bitch" that day because I was not feeling well due to tooth aches and lack of sleep. Also, it was raining.
Today, hubby and step son decided to go hiking while my sister in law and I took the boys to Pigeon Forge to shop around.
This was an adventurous day for sure.

We dropped hubby and step son off at the visitor center in Townsend, TN and then they went off on their own from there. By the time we arrived, it stopped raining. THANK GOODNESS!!!

We were all hungry and so were the little boys so we stopped in Pigeon Forge and ate at Cracker Barrel. Sis in law and her son played a short game of checkers while we waited for our food to arrive.

Lunch was going to be followed by some shopping or taking the boys to go play somewhere but this happened:

The white Toyota Avalon was driven by a much older couple who did not see us as they were backing out. The red Hyundai Elantra was my sister in law's car which had more damage to it than the other car. They were found to be at fault for it and it scared my 4 yr old to the point he wanted to come back home to Texas. Poor guy. That ended our day in Pigeon Forge. On the way home, sis in law got "lost"...she actually drove 10 minutes past our exit to get back to the cabin. Oops.

Apparently this fun this vlog "game" has been crossing over states, countries and continents as well as over many many blogs.
A friend of mine Rachel from The Newlywed Naslunds posted her vlog last week while I was in Tennessee.

DISCLAIMER: You can't hear him but I have a 4 yr old in the background playing video game in the other room and he kept asking who I was talking to. Ha! I was trying to do my best at ignorning him. Also, this is my very first Vlog so I ramble and I'm not always sure what to say. There is no script on my computer or behind the camera so please pardon my messy vlogging.

Spring Break-Day Three

Day two was followed by the start of a new week-Monday. Day three didnt have a lot of activity to it. I was in a lot of pain that day so I was in my comfy pants and a tshirt. Sis in law and her son came up to the cabin to spend their Spring Break week with us. It was loads of fun.
The older men started cleaning the storage under the cabin as well as the storage on the land and moving things to where they needed to go and boxing stuff up for Goodwill. We found an old Polaroid camera that nephew in law enjoyed playing with. I think we have a future photographer on our hands. Also, hubby, sis in law, step son and father in law all had their share of "playing" with a .22 hand gun.

Sis in law brought her friend Patron with her and had mom in law and hubby taking some shots. It was fun to watch because of mom in law's expression after taking the shot.

That concludes day number three in Tennessee!

Spring Break-Day Two

Woke up Sunday morning, showered and had a great breakfast that sister in law's long time boyfriend cooked up. Actually, I was still in pain (wisdom teeth) so I just had a biscuit and some eggs. I also wasn't feeling up to par thanks to Mother Nature sharing my Spring Break vacation with me.
We loaded up the car and headed off to Maryville, TN where my in laws live in a BEAUTIFUL cabin up in the mountains. On the way, (which was only about a 3 hour drive) we stopped at the Fort Loudon Dam. I stayed in the car with the dog while the boys walked down near the gates.

Taken with my cell phone from the car

Later that evening, step son found Papa's pellet gun and was shooting at Coke cans.

Spring Break-Day One

There isn't really much to post about Day 1, but then again, is there ever?
We arrived in Nashville around 9pm-ish or so at my sister in law's apartment. We all got caught up in what all is going on and then the "boys" broke out the Wii and the PS3. Well technically sis in law pulled it out to play with hubby but then the boys had a crack at guitar hero.
